System and Process Program Manager,
National Missing and Unidentified Persons System (NamUs)
Lori Bruski is a Research Public Health Analyst at RTI International, currently serving as the System and Process Program Manager for the National Missing and Unidentified Persons System (NamUs). In this role, she oversees database quality and operating procedures, collaborates with system developers to enhance functionality, and conducts data extraction and visualization for research and metric reporting. Lori is also responsible for implementing training programs, ensuring procedural accuracy and program compliance, assisting with DNA forensic services, and contributing to large-scale projects such as Operation UNITED (Unknown Names Identified Through Exhumation and DNA). Additionally, she serves as a Cold Case Advisor, providing in-depth case reviews and recommendations to investigating agencies.
Prior to joining RTI, Lori gained experience with the NamUs project at the University of North Texas Center for Human Identification, where she served as a Regional Program Specialist. In this capacity, she provided support to families of missing individuals and investigating agencies nationwide, offering training and technical assistance for missing, unidentified, and unclaimed person cases.
Lori's professional background also includes employment with the Michigan State Police, where she received extensive training in firearms, crime scene response, bloodstain pattern interpretation, serological examinations, DNA analysis, and courtroom testimony.
Lori is an active member of the Midwestern Association of Forensic Scientists (MAFS) and currently sits on the MAFS Communication Committee. She is also affiliated with professional organizations such as the International Association of Bloodstain Pattern Analysts, the American Academy of Forensic Sciences, and the International Association of Chiefs of Police.
Lori holds a bachelor’s degree in Human Biology with an additional major in Anthropology from Michigan State University and a Master’s of Science in Forensic Science from the University of Florida.
